turns out spotify didn't do wrapped in my country after (one of) THE ONLY REASONS I MOVED TO SPOTIFY IN THE FIRST PLACE WAS FOR THE WRAPPED.. but it's fine whatever thankfully I linked my spotify to last.fm so I'll just diy a (low effort) wrapped of sorts

ummm well... where to start. in my defense about basically everything on here, I only started using spotify about halfway through the year and only have the standard, non-premuim version which just makes it really annoying to listen on my phone since I can't really choose what songs I want to listen to so basically I listen to music on my computer mostly when I'm at home. or if I'm too lazy to open my computer I just listen to music on youtube lol. so like this is accurate but also not That accurate since it's missing my streaming habits from the first half of the year (hence the lack of ive and nct dream.. I'm 100% sure I streamed love dive and beatbox twice as much as antifragile just bc of how convenient the timing for those two cbs was for me).

anyway, onto the details. honestly I'm not even surprised that taylor was my top artist I honestly listen to that woman more than is probably healthy but I'm having a good time tbh.. what I'm actually surprised about is ateez making it SECOND... I honestly didn't think the year of our lord 2022 would be the year I got back into them but ig it was a year full of surprises and tbh their discography hasn't lost quality since I last listened to them. some of their songs really are addicting T__T and about hans zimmer... well... he makes great ambient music fro studying tbh

moving on to albums well.. I really do stream new releases more than older ones so no surprises there either. even if midnights isn't my favorite TS album it still has bangers and a great overall mood. though you could say folklore is my "comfort" album.. <3 she's everything. and I feel like I could make a whole separate post abput sza's album she's a MASTERPIECE but I don't have the energy for that rn so I'll just settle for saying it's been on loop a criminal amount considering the fact that I barely had time to listen to music in december. I haven't even had the chance to choose a track to loop for hours but don't be surprised if f2f is my top track for january. tbh the only thing that really surprises me here is that cheshire made it instead of antifragile

and now the tracks <3

1. antifragile

I'm both surprised and not really about this because this track is truly That addicting, like the reggaeton beat and their voices + the lyrics just make a truly lether combination. I'm surprised in the sense that I liked fearless but I didn't ever think I would be so into le sserafim. and then they released THIS <3 I honestly don't know if they can top it for me... but I'll keep my eye peeled for them this year

2. falling slowly

basically I had discovered this song ages ago, loved it and then forgot it existed. and then lia's lee mujin episode came out and it was like a part of my brain got sectioned off to think about this song and this song exclusively. the crazy way I streamed this is not reflected here like the amount of times I looped this on youtube should be studied.. it's just so perfect To Me.. the sad whimsical vibes and the INSTRUMENTAL tie everything together so perfectly how can I Not be obsessed..

3. bye bye

something about red velvet and sampling classical music... they just Know how to do it. and for some reason their vocal color just fits the vibes soooo well. truly this song was everything to me.. it also reminds me that fmr came out this year was well T__T it probably would've come out on here if I'd been using spotify at the time

4. freaky

honestly idek what to say about this one she just slaps. and although I also loved snowy (something about fur elise samples u could say) I just got randomly obsessed with freaky's vibes

5. you're on your own, kid

this song is quite literally everything to me... from the lyrics to the melody and the pacing of the song in general it is such a masterpiece and so personally relatable. like I was called to it the minute I read the title tbh and like always blondie didn't disappoint in delivering the most heart-wrenching coming of age banger. top 5 tswift songs of ever for me tbh

6. boys like you

I'm just as surprised to see itzy on the list twice.. but honestly even though this was their "flop" year I actually liked everything they put out TT even though sneakers took a while to grow on me I did end up loving it in the end too.. and with bly I do understand they unsuccessfully tried to pull a the feels but it worked on Me at least.. I like disney channel music what can I say

in general this is kind of last minute and roughly put together but I really wanted to out out Something at least during january + I truly do enjoy these wrap-up posts they just take so much Time that I do not have right now.. I'm kinda sad I missed the timing to do all the end of year wrap-up posts because I've just been way too busy and the end of last year was extremely chaotic for me T__T I'll probably get to those around february but they're definitely coming, probably along with a rant about how terrible this semester has been, and that IS a promise
