it's been a surprisingly okay month?? insanely busy but I was able to wind down the last few days of the month and realized that despite the immense stress I was under I really enjoyed most of what I did :') I made a short film and produced a play as well as other mostly-fun and fulfilling activities.. I will try not to keep my hopes up high as to not get disappointed but after how gloomy and exhausting the past few months have been, this wasn't a half-bad start to the year

december was so insanely busy I didn't get to watch many christmas movies so my mom and I tried to make up for it in january but it was also so insanely busy we only ended up managing to watch two T__T a not so merry christmas was the uncontested fave because something about mexican movies always just Hits Different like !! the comedy is always top tier, the concept was so fun and although it's been done before this one just had a Touch to it that still made it interesting and captivating. and although the pacing got thrown off a little towards the end it was fine bc it was still pretty fun and easy to follow, probably one of the best christmas movies I've watched in years tbh..
abt single all the way... (tiktok voice) she's just like every other bitch… EXCEPT SHE'S ALSO GAY so that makes her more fun. we love to see ur typical stupid christmas movie plots but #yassified it gives me life despite what that two star ranking might indicate ok. and truly the pinning even had me at the edge of my seat like I gotta give it to the actors.. I even felt a little bit of tension
then I randomly decided to watch clueless at the end of the month and tbh it was the BEST decision ever like out of all the things this movie could’ve been about I don’t think I would’ve ever guessed it based on what I knew about it (which was basically just the aesthetic). honestly I couldn’t really get into it at first but then I stopped thinking so hard about it and kind of just let myself watch it mindlessly and actually started liking it a lot T__T like cher was just too cute, not the typical queen bee you always see in highschool movies which made everything so much more enjoyable like (once again, besides the aesthetic) I really get why this is a classic. and ALSO another part that I really loved was how organic it felt, like so many rough shots were included which was soooo satisfying to me, it made everything look so natural. that’s one of my favorite things in films bc to me it shows just how much love was put into the film, the little mistakes and false steps in certain shots are always so precious

wednesday (2022) ★★★★☆
first show of the year!! technically I started it before but december was so chaotic I couldn't finish it until jan 1st but honestly I'm really glad I did bc it was such a fun way to start the year TT tbh socmed led me to believe it was a way better show than it actually was but in the end it was still so much fun despite the "riverdale writing" in some parts and the characteristic butchering and exaggeration of teens and their personalities (especially enid like I get she's supposed to be cringe teen but I think even cringe teens cringed at some of the stuff she said). the show also definitely had a pacing problem and maybe I'm a girl that loves #exposition a little too much but in my opinion it was missing a little in that aspect as well like if I hadn't been binging it I definitely would've had a hard time following along.
overall it was very entertaining though and I just love the way wednesday gets to be mean and toxic with little to no consequence and the writers even acknowledge it like that's just her universal truth, that's extremely fun and interesting To Me + what's not to love about wednesday's personality?? I think they did a great job at showing her duality and also her relationship with tyler was SO GOOD like honestly what's better than the crazy toxic goth girl and the just some guy that simply accepts he's her accessory and still runs along with it??? we don't need to hold wednesday accountable we need to let her thrive !!!

these were the last plays I read for my theatre class TT definitely felt a little bittersweet since la llamada was easily the best play I read for it like!! a musical about god singing witney houston AND lesbian nuns??? seriously what else could I ask for!! fr fucking revolutionary, I completely fell in love with it and wish so badly that I could see it live sjhdg it's all I need for my brief thespian life to feel complete. there's also a movie apparently but it doesn't look very good so I am avoiding it... I'd rather not have my perception of the play tainted by it lol
and then crÃa de canguros was very fun too!! short and to the point which made it really nice but yerma.... it was so boring I decided to just not read any of the other assigned plays for the unit after I finished it I just gave up at once LMFAO
I didn't really read much fic either T__T the only one that really burnt itself in my brain was this skz pirates fic.. life-changing and revitalizing read tbh I have the author's profile open in my tabs so I can binge read their other fics sometime soon LMAO I never thought I'd start the year of our lord 2023 reading stray kids fic but ig life just gets u like that sometimes..

once again ateez hitting me out of nowhere with how good their music is seriously... I didn't even know they were having a comeback until like the after it came out but I've been completely obsessed w the track since like idek what it means but bichi dweeojuo oh halazia ig. and also the CHOREOGRAPHY?? their performances were all sooo good down to the stage design it really made me feel insane..
the way halazia made me feel last month is kinda like how txt are making me feel rn like why is sugar rush ride so good... a song with that kind of title shouldn't have the right to be sooo.. whatever it is they're doing but it's insanely addictive. and their stages are soooo good too like the GLITTER?? and the SLUTTY FITS??? their stylists rlly know how to cater to their audience LOL
the album in general is soooo good too ngl I'm a bit embarrassed that farewell, neverland managed to make it to my top5 even though the album has been out for LESS THAN A WEEK but what can I say.. I am a whore for soft and sad guitar-heavy songs so it's not really a surprise anyway. and shout out to my second fav tinnitus she's incredibly addictive too
I also had a bit of an mcr resurrection phase for reasons unknown even to Me but I heard they're working on new music and instantly got transported to sixth grade when I would listen to them for about 90% of my grade and like.. can't blame past me, they still slap
aside from that nothing else in here is really a surprise T__T (<-- guy who is obsessed with nct dream's emotional manipulation tracks bc they're always exactly my style). taylor and hans zimmer have also basically become a permanent fixture in my spotify welcome page because of how much I listen to them while I study and/or just hang out in my room so they're probably gonna stay there until further notice. except maybe less hans zimmer since I'm on break but I expect he'll make a comeback when my semester starts again LMAO
another month full of random k-pop watches that I can't really explain myself?? (self-procaimed nctzen that hasn't watched a single nct video in the past ~6 months)
but hao one of my original k-pop boys T__T he's seriously the cutest ever. brightens my day whenever I see him etc. etc. this video was so adorablee even if I had to pause every time he said something embarrassing I've accepted that's something that'll always happen (<-- guy who is an infj)
I also watched a lot of skz content?? skz code felix never bad 1 & 2, sunmi showterview w skz, skz code fandom tour ep 4... once again cannot fathom why but they're very cute kids... even when they fight and are blatantly in each other's faces about picking and choosing favorites which was about 80% of all the content I watched but even then they were cute and cuddly so it was extremely bearable
my youtube watching habits got even more abysmal if that's even possible.. I started going on the app just to watch reels it's that bad T__T and some may think "why don't you just download tiktok instead?" to which my answer is.. I'm just lazy LOL I really don't want to bear through hours of tiktok horrors to get the algorythm working in my favor again so ig I'll bear through hours of (slightly more catered to my taste) youtube shorts horrors instead..
the only thing I remember watching that was actually fun was just the jenna ortega wired interview which was sooo nice and cute I love the way she talks and how she tells stories.. what can I say I'm just like other girls (is in love with jenna ortega)
aside from that this month I watched so many PLAYS!!! (aside from producing my own.. el dÃa que me quieras u will always be famous). they were all for the same class and each section had to put on their own play and not to be biased but I really did enjoy mine the most.. even though I watched it a million times while they were rehearsing it was just sooo exciting and wonderful every time that play is truly magic <3
the others I watched were: no hay ladrón que por bien no venga, prohibido suicidarse en primavera, the importance of being earnest, nuestra señora de las nubes and the treatment. out of all of them I think the treatment was my second favorite, it was truly such a joy and a privilege to be able to watch live and the production was seriously insane <3__<3 I completely fell in love with it as well by the time it was done, it was really beautiful
I really fell in love with theatre recently if you couldn't tell so I really hope I get a chance to watch more plays the rest of this year :')
